Chicago group Body Shop are probably expecting a call from lawyers any day. But in the meantime they have put together an EP for Cincinnati label Future Shock to be released April 3. Sex Body is a tape with 5 tracks from the trio who seem to have borrowed generously from Plus Instruments on the title track. The similarities between ”Sex Body” and the Dutch group’s ”Bodies” from around 1982 are just too obvious to be anything but an homage. The group’s funky take on post-punk mirrors the late 70s scene of New York, while being adjacent in sound to new bands like Sextile and Automatic.
