80% Baul is the solo project of Spanish artist Raúl Páez. Largely influenced by local pioneers like Décima Víctima and Parálisis Permanente, he’s been making music for a while. Both as 80% Baul, whose first album came out in 2020, and as A.M.Q.N. which is more dance-oriented. His latest album is called Música Para Caminar and came out via Spanish label Oráculo Records in January. It’s an 8-track LP that reminds me of a few other current EBM/post-punk artists like Tout Debord. The production on this is much more true to the 80s sound however, and could easily be mistaken for something off of the Interferencias Spanish Synth Wave compilations.
