I’ve followed Maara closely ever since I heard her masterful first album The Ancient Truth. Last year she teamed up with fellow Canadian producer D. Tiffany for one of its best dance music EPs. Several singles then appeared from the new album Ultra Villain which finally dropped on Naff on February 5. Once again I’m blown away by her production style, which takes the very best bits of 90s r’n’b and triphop to blend it with modern club music in a connoisseur-like fashion. 14 tracks and one hour of music you definitely don’t want to miss this winter.
