The Black Hill, the Glass Sky is the title of a beautiful new compilation from Glasgow’s Somewhere Press – capturing the darkness and folkloric depths of winter. Full of artists who have contributed to the label before, you’ll find music from acclaimed producers like Dania, Doris Dana, Arbore (Diane Barbé and Laure Boer) and Teresa Winter. There’s new music from Alliyah Enyo, who had the very first release on the label, and Alexandra Grübler of Baal & Mortimer also appears on the tape. Hannah Archambault is a new discovery for me, and she also just released an album via Industrial Coast. This 13-track cassette is out since February 5 and one of two downtempo comps recommended for this weekend.
