Soak is a small label based in Kazakstan that appeared last year with a compilation just called soak. They caught my ear because they had a track by Doris Dana on it, and now in January soak vol 2 came out. This time with a track by Bad LSD Trips which is her duo with Domingo Castillo Flores. But there’s a lot more to this 32-track compilation, which includes everything from downtempo to ambient to experimental folk like Goo. Free Version is another artist I came across recently, based in Berlin. Glasgow’s Slyn (pictured) who runs Gravity Pleasure along with Slowfoam is another one worth checking out. She contributes a beautiful ambient track on this record together with Poole.
