Elizabeth Bane is a new artist who seems to be based in Spain. Since Tenerife Sur is their first release there’s not much to go on but the music, which is a dark take on ambient, leaning into noise. The majestic ”No Smoking In the Restaurant” has elements of industrial music that tangents some of Trent Reznor’s work in cinema. And then of course, there’s the 12-minute ”Guagua Gratuita”, which sounds like black metal paired with scraping sounds taken out of Autechre’s manual. Out on Cold Call since January 23.
