I’ve really been looking forward to hearing the first recordings from Australian duo Don’t, ever since my friend Grace turned me on to them. Their selftitled EP came out via bandcamp in November and consists of 5 absolute winners. The duo of Rhi and Mitch fit the same mould as other duos like Left For Pleasure and posit themselves halfway between darkwave and EBM. But vocalist Rhi’s Māori roots make her one of the few exceptions in an otherwise very male/white scene. Don’t are based in Magandjin (Brisbane) and have been doing some live shows – hopefully with more releases in the pipeline for 2026.
