December is always a crazy month because I’m catching up with all the music I have missed out on during the year. One of the probable late additions to my end of year-lists is this mini-album from the Perth/Helsinki trio Trickpony. Started by Australian producers Roza Terenzi and Mike Midnight with vocals from Emkay/gemK, it’s a triphop project with a very nostalgic style. Last year their very first record came out on Terenzi’s label Step Ball Chain and this December 24/7 Heaven arrived, with 6 indeed heavenly tracks.
Picture borrowed from the un:send site – a festival taking place across New Years outside Naarm and curated by Kia. It’s starting on my birthday, so I really wish I could be there, or at the Mezzanine club in Miscellenia a few days later where Trickpony are also performing live.
