IKYA is the Berlin-based duo of m preis and Krohm, whom you may remember from the Diminishing Returns episode on which they appeared. It was also the first time I had international guests on the show and I loved their mix so much. Earlier in the summer, I got to hear the ambient album they’d been working on and was also lucky enough to see them play a 2-hour live set. Tengam feels like so much more than an ambient record, it’s the sound of two humans, of real instruments, voices – it’s not just something thrown together on a laptop in a basement. The 10-track tape came out on their own label Eremit and Subsidized Time on December 14.
