Dark Entries put out a compilation called Metro Subterranean back in 2024 with four bands from the West coast. In November this year a new volume came out, with all four groups based in Los Angeles. Calling them ‘future wave’, it makes sense for Dark Entries to put them together like this, but I really would have preferred separate 7” EPs I must say. My favourite band here is Donzii (pictured), who put out a couple of records in 2021-22. Some of those tracks are gathered here. Kiypi, ICBM and lastly Period Bomb are the other groups. The latter, started by Camila Alvarez from Miami, has an interesting take on riot grrrl.
