Doris Dana, or Mónica Mesa from Colombia, most recently appeared on Somewhere Press with an excellent record. So suffice so say, I was excited when I heard about her new mixtape. The North Carolina-based sound artist has gathered a soundscape around her nostalgic memories of bolero on two sides of this tape available from Enmossed (well, sold out at source but still available). She mines memories of her parents and grandparents on the hour-long tape that came out November 13. Sure enough, it’s called Nostalgia.
