Moroccan, Paris-based DJ and producer Vel continues to excel on her own label Purr. Vel’s latest opus is an ambient record called Cuddle Protocol. It sees her take a step back from her beat-based and dance-oriented tracks to a create an organic, fluid LP with 9 new tracks. Titles like ”I Moan In Bass” and ”It’s How I Suffocate” sets the tone for an album that also features spoken vocals in a soft voice, as if coming from a distant answering machine. It came out October 17 and is still available, for a very affordable price (considering how much I just paid for the Malibu LP).
