Daisy Ray is Belgian musician and songwriter whose real name is Femke Fredrix. She has recently followed up her debut from 2024 with a new album. Once In a While came out on Deardogs back in June but I only just heard it. Aside from having some dope coverart, this record gives us 12 tracks of off-kilter, experimental pop that relies on field recordings, haphazard rhythms and playful vocals. It will take you a while to digest, but it definitely rewards you in the long run.
