Tchotchke is a trio from New York that actually released an album in 2022, which I heard about through Ian Svenonious. The group is inspired by 50s and 60s aesthetics and feminist perspectives, which you can see in the Barbie-inspired video for ”Playin’ Dumb” – one of the singles from their new record of the same title. The album was released by the group themselves on September 5 and recorded with some help from The Lemon Twigs. Their Los Angeles roots are still very much present and the video was show by Ambar Navarro, who has worked with many of my favourite LA musicians.
