Another Australian group that was before my time, or that I at least didn’t pay sufficient attention to until their ‘last’ album came out in 2011, is Eddy Current Suppression Ring. But for anyone living in Australia, the group is was of the unifying forces of the underground scene. I never met anyone who didn’t like ECSR. After their surprise reformation and new album in 2019, they’ve mostly stayed quiet. Mikey Young now plays in Kissland and The Green Child. But last July a new sign of life appeared in the shape of new EP Shapes and Forms. It came out on Cool Death and includes three vital new songs.
There are rumours of a new album in the works, as they released the single and video ”Swimming Hole” earlier I the year.
