Princess Demeny saw a resurgence in interest following the release of 1986 track “New York Grief” in 2021. There was more material lying around and the Canadian artist also shared some old music videos from the 80s. One of them was “The Dance Rats” which you can see below. Eventually she released the original tracks without waiting for a reissue.
Only the Surface is a 10-track compilation portraying Princess Demeny’s musical journey from 1986 to 1991. It was shared via her bandcamp last year and I hope someone gives this piece of underground synth pop a vinyl pressing at some point.
