RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #248
It’s been a good wee while since we wrote about something psychedelic, but when I saw that Teen Sound had reissued The Things, I felt compelled to tell you about it. Part of a massive swathe of new reissues from Misty Lane (also a new 12” pressing of the seminal Dovers singles comp), they first gave Coloured Heaven a new lease on life last year. This was the debut LP from the Los Angeles group, from 1984, so perhaps a bit late for the paisley underground scene.
Outside My Window followed in 1986 (also on the Voxx label) and this too was reissued in January of this year. For anyone with even a mild interest in 60s psychedelia, this record is a must-have that owes a lot to Love. The remastered version includes the 13 original tracks with new cover art (I preferred the old one to be honest). One final LP (simply as ‘Things’) arrived in 1988 before the group disbanded.
