The music of Valesuchi continues to fascinate me. The producer from Chile, who’s now based in Rio de Janeiro is about to follow up her EP from last year with another full-length on August 8 (actually a double-vinyl). It’s the Medellín label Discos Nutabe who will be releasing Futuro Cercano, a title which relates to the belief that the future lies behind us (and as such, can’t be seen) and is common among Amerindian cultures.
I don’t think there’s any point in describing the music further, but this is what the bandcamp page says:
“In a time when all cultural expression is not only expected to be taggable, but is also increasingly produced from templates that precondition our perception—favoring categorization and connections to works or scenes of the past—the tracks on this album are generically unclassifiable.”
