We wrote about Los Angeles-based Chicano artist Avalon back in 2019 – that’s when her last single came out. This year we’ve already featured her new music on Apple Turnover and in our summer playlist (“Scream”, for which there’s also a video below). It’s all been leading up to the release of Permanent Californian which is her first EP, while pointing back in time to some of the first music she ever released. These 6 tracks have been long in the works, as Avalon has worked through many different identities, only to find her most authentic persona in these 90s-inspired compositions.
