Sofie Birch and Antonina Nowacka are two experimental musicians that I have both witnessed live at Intonal festival. Sofie Birch from Copenhagen already collaborated with Polish composer and singer Antonina Nowacka in 2022, on an album that came out with the help of Unsound festival. Now they have followed up Languoria with a new LP, once again thanks to Unsound who sent them on a retreat in southern Poland. They recorded what became Hiraeth live to tape. The name is a Welsh word which means “a form of longing for an intangible something, somewhere or someone that no longer exists”.
