FIST is a New York queer techno event and now also a label. The title of their first release Fun Is Still Transgressive, Vol. 1 will not only let you know what fist stands for literally, but also culturally and musically. Having operated since 2016, they’ve been able to call on a wide range of artists to contribute to this 17-track digital compilation. From names that are very familiar to me, like Isabella Koen, DJ Valentimes and Vel – the record also includes bigger names like Ryan James Ford, Baugruppe90 and 1morning. I’m also really excited about an unreleased track from Baby Blue, who seems to not be active anymore. The track from Berlin-via-Texas producer Saroc (pictured above) is also great.
The proceeds go to the Ravers for Palestine Strike Fund – a global solidarity strike fund to cover the fees of DJs and musicians respecting ongoing boycotts within rave culture.
