Powerplant have a new tape out, just months after their recent 7” that we also covered. Once again using their own imprint Arcane Dynamics, they put out Heat will little fanfare on July 11. It looks like they’re dedicating these 5 new tracks to Micheal Mann, who directed the movie of the same name in 1995. Sonically, they’re also referencing Blur’s self-titled from 1997 – most noticeably on “Quiet Heat”. Anyone who’s been following the London group knows that they have no problem breaking out of their mold.
