Death Side was a Japanese hardcore group active circa 1984-1995 and who were one of the groups in the niche hardcore scene Burning Spirits that was local to Japan. According to this article the first EP by the group, released in 1988, can be considered the first example of this sound.
The original group later split up and formed a number of new bands like Paintbox. But in 2015 they got back together and started playing shows again, except for the original guitar player who sadly passed away in 2007. London label La vida es un mus have obviously been fans of the group and at the beginning of the month they released the massive double-vinyl compilation The Will Never Die. It includes all of the band’s tracks not on their albums.
The first version of this actually came out on cd way back in 1999. But this is the only official vinyl version. Dig into these classic 40 tracks.
