F.F.S.

A new experiment focused on direct sound action in the local area, together with dear friend Etienne. It’s an open-ended theme but in practice will consist of a string of pop-up DJ sets, with the first once occurring today around 7pm in Malmö. DM us on instagram for the location.

Future Free Sound is inspired by the Free Party movement, as well as the Future of Sound and Song workshop at Media Evolution that we both took part in earlier this year. After watching the documentary Free Party – a Folk History at Dekmantel (following Spiral Tribe, Circus Warp and many other groups) it all seemed to gel.

FFS is also a ‘for fuck’s sake’ to the entertainment industry and a forum for taking the distribution of dance and music into our own hands. It can also stand for any number of other things, things that are yet to come.

During the workshop at Media Evolution one of the possible scenarios developed for 2025, was a future overshadowed by climate catastrophe, mass migration and overpopulation – in which few people has access to recorded music and its history. Making these people a kind of Mad Max type ‘history men’ (probably ‘history people’ these days).
