Das Beat is a new duo based in Berlin that was founded last year when Canadian artist DJ Kirby of Blue Hawaii relocated there. After a debut EP in 2021, called Identität, they are now back with a new single on Arbutus (known for releases by Tops and Kirby’s old project). “Intensity” is a great 80s synth-inspired pop song not unlike what Gauci are doing. Eddie Rabenberger’s vocals lifts the track out of mediocrity into greatness.
