I’ve been waiting for a proper release from Sydney punks Optic Nerve for at least two years and as you could tell from our list of Best singles & EPs of 2021, there’s a tape out on Urge Records. It actually came out in the summer so or bad for not mentioning it earlier. In a Fast Car Waving Goodbye has 5 tracks (“Ballistic” exclusive to the physical release) that deliver on the promise of their 2019 tape. The breakneck speed of “Crash” and twin guitars of “Water Creature” once again places Sydney on the map of punk and hardcore.
