Guillaume Marietta disbanded the great Feeling of Love some time around 2013 and has since then made several great records as simply Marietta. Still signed to Born Bad, these records of his have been an exploration of his many influences and styles (or rather approaches) to making music – alone or together with other musicians. His new album Prazepam St. has a bit of the same cut’n’paste sound as White Fence’s early records. It definitely has the trappings of a bedroom creation – moving freely between vastly different ideas. “Hey Void” is a beautiful song that almost sounds like Smashing Pumpkins. That’s the kind of unexpected realisation these songs are full of.
