55 Cancri e is a solo project from a Swedish artist and composer based in Malmö, named after an exoplanet to the binary star 55 Cancri. With such an oblique name you’d expect a difficult listening experience, but in fact it’s quite an accessible mix of folk and ambient. Normally singing in the Swedish, as on the Under EP that came out on Do You Dream of Noise? last year, the brand new album is an instrumental accompaniment to a zine. The zine is called Ett nytt universum and is the first part of a series. The soundtrack consists of 11 tracks of eerie wordless vocals, synthesisers and electric guitar.
