Triptides new LP

Just when we were gushing about the Cool Ghouls LP existing in a vacuum, LA psychedelic masters Triptides return with an album that is as close to perfect anything recorded after 1968 can be. From the Leslie-laden vocals of “Do You Ever Wonder?” to what’s perhaps their best song yet, “It Won’t Hurt You” (the second cousin of Byrds’ classic “So You Wanna Be a Rock’n’Roll Star”) – Triptides have taken their sound back to the basic dynamics of the trio fronted by Glenn Brigman. Check out the interview Fuzz City (no relation to the now thankfully forgotten label) did with Brigman and this live appearance from a week ago. Alter Echoes is out now on the Bomp!-affiliated Alive Naturalsound Records.
