Dyktando

It’s great to see Newcastle, Australia, label Altered Tapes widening their scopes to take on more European talent, like Strahinja Arbutina that we’ve already written about. Dyktando is another such project, originating in Poland. Released in the autumn of 2020, Archive 14​-​19 is evidently an archive of tracks recorded by Warsaw-based producer Wiktor Milczarek during that period and his first release to boot. The six tracks on the tape are definitely part of the industrial electro influenced by 80s EBM that we keep seeing a lot of currently. But most of the beats here have more in common with hiphop. Check out the heavily percussive “Toast Bread” for a taste (yum).
