Widowspeak released an album last year called Plum but a week ago a brand EP appeared on Captured Tracks. Honeychurch was recorded in Hamilton’s and Thomas’ apartment in Brooklyn and is made up of reimagined material from the album sessions and a couple of new cover versions. Their take on “The One I Love” by R.E.M. is particularly impressive. The songs were then mixed and mastered by Jamie Harley (who has previously worked with JAMC and Mogwai).
