Spill Gold is an Amsterdam group mainly consisting of Rosa Ronsdorf and Nina de Jong (also in Blue Crime). Today they are releasing their latest album Highway Hypnosis, on the Knekelhuis label. Their first vinyl release consists of seven tracks combining analogue and digital elements. A full drum kit (or two, as in the video for “Beast Machine Alien”), bass guitar and lots of synthesizers. A track like “Bird Soul” sounds very much 2020, in its combination of a multitude of elements into a pop song that defies categorisation.
