Ocean Grove is a small town outside of Melbourne, just a bit further away than Geelong. That’s where BIN come from, a new lofi pop band that includes Cal Shortal from The Murlocs (and now also playing with Orb). Their new record Listen Guys is a short album that reminds me a bit of Virgin Kids and Bitch Prefect. They’ve recorded and released it themselves, just getting a bit of help with the mastering from Owen Penglis. These eight tracks are the same kind of fare that Burger churned out in the hundreds a few years. They’re not trying to be clever, they just do what they’re best at. And sometimes that’s more than enough, BIN is a good band.
