One of them is The Clientele from London, who have released their first new music since 2017. “Closer” starts off with a quiet Jim & Dale vibe and then crescendos into a pop chorus worthy of their own heyday. The strings add an extra layer of beauty that makes me miss Mel Draisey’s presence.
