Low Life

Alter is the London label who I’m mostly familiar with for putting out music by locals The Pheromoans and Uniform from NYC, but also a bunch of Australian acts like Total Control, Fabulous Diamonds and Low Life. Low Life haven’t released anything for about a year, but were set to do some shows during the coming month (before they were all cancelled). So I reckon their upcoming 7″ will need some extra promotion. “Catholic Guilt” is an unreleased track from the time for their first album, dealing with the same topic as Sonic Youth’s “Catholic Block”. Even better, in my opinion, is the remix of album track “Dream Machine” done by Total Control. Lifted from non-essential to brilliant, partly by removing the guitars.

No streaming yet, but available from lowlife.bandcamp.com/album/catholic-guilt in a couple of weeks.
