I just saw Dark Water supporting Pleasure Symbols earlier tonight at Northcote Social Club. Apparently Dark Water are one of the singer’s favourite Australian acts, and it’s easy to see why. While they operate in the same musical landscape as Pleasure Symbols, they are much more melodic. That’s mainly due to singer, synth player and guitarist Jack Siren’s amazing voice. Songs like “Wasteland” will have you rummaging for your copy of Power, Corruption and Lies. That song and four other minimal tunes make up their selftitled EP from last year. Live the duo are joined by iconic Melbourne musician V on drums.
