Sydney label Paradise Daily put out the debut LP from Knitted Abyss about six months ago. Bad Lassies is a humbly ambitious first record, from the duo made up of Lucy Phelan and Anna John. Well actually, they released some tapes over ten years ago – one of them on US label Night People. But this is their first proper release featuring their trademark ‘psych folk trance’, as it has been called. Regardless of what you want to label it, songs like “Fear of Ice” are more than worthy of your attention.
