Boytoy’s most recent album was great wasn’t it? Now one of the Brooklyn band’s members has gone solo under the name Suo. SUO of course stands for Saara Untracht-Oakner and she has made an amazing record with Dancing Spots And Dungeons that came out on Stolen Body at the end of last year. Full of references to 80s pop but disguised as a rock album, the songwriting here is really on par with big names like Ex Hex. Saara’s voice has just enough personality to lift most of these tunes by itself. Impossible to categorise, but that’s just how we like it.
