Higher State new 45

Hypnotic Bridge is a South California label dedicated to releasing seven-inches, and lately they’ve been on fire, with 3 releases coming out and we’re going to tell you about every one of them. First out is this new single from English group The Higher State, which is by far the most established group the label has worked with so far. They laboured in obscurity for many years, especially after being reduced to the duo of Marty Radcliffe and Paul Messis. Here, they turn in another classic Higher State folk-jangler, titled “In the Morning I Will Roam”. Perhaps even better, is the Vashti Bunyan cover “Winter Is Blue” on the flip, although we probably won’t feel that wintry vibe for another six months in this kind of weather.

Also worth checking out, is their previous 45 from the end of 2018. “Ten Clear Petals” is out on 13 O’Clock Records and definitely among their most punkedelic records ever.
