The wait’s been long and the wait’s been sweet. And it was worth it. Zak Olsen’s new record as Traffik Island comes to a world already rocked to its foundations by The Frowning Clouds (one of the bands that ignited the Geelong scene) and ORB. On Nature Strip Olsen puts on his best Donovan and Ray Davies impressions. This collection of tunes, out on Flightless Records, may be a mellow bunch but very much yellow. Add some tasteful flourishes of 12-string guitar and you’re basically set for one of the best records of 2019.
