Dear, oh dear

Looking up James Goggin’s Practise studio, I found this interesting project which was a workshop with the students of Hochschule Darmstadt. Lulu is an online print-on-demand service, which I used to print my BDes thesis last year. The Dear Lulu book is “a calibration document for testing colour, pattern, format, texture and typography. Exercises in colour profile, halftoning, point size, line, geometry, skin tone, colour texture, cropping and print finishing provide useful data for other designers and self-publishers to judge the possibilities and quality of online print-on-demand.” Very useful in other words. Also available now, is Dear Kolofon made for Norwegian service Kolofon. A similar book exists for Blurb.
